Cowboy's Cranberry Heart

Okay, nothing groundbreaking here. Just cute. There is a sweet story here. This is Cowboy. Our Golden Retriever who is getting a bit white around the eyes now. He is such a sweetheart.

It was a cold, rainy day here today.  I had a serious case of the blahs. In an effort to get the creative juices going I took a bag of cranberries and a heart cookie cutter with me outside. (This is the kind of stuff I do.) I took my three dogs with me. They normally run around and chase squirrels, but today they were very interested in my project. I wish someone had taken a picture of the scene. I was on my hands and knees in the leaves arranging my cranberries into the shape of a heart, and all three dogs sat around me in a circle watching me very closely. I think they picked up on my focus and figured out those cranberries were very important. I kept trying to shoo them away, all the while laughing at their intensity. The more I tried to get everything just right, the more they began to want those cranberries, to the point of growling at one another. They don’t even like cranberries.

The image above was taken after the battle was over. I was cold and wet and totally uninspired. I put the cookie cutter and cranberries down in the garage, and Cowboy lay down right next to them, happy to have them to himself. So funny. So instead of an artistic cranberry shot, I used the sweet Cowboy shot. He’s a keeper.

Love it! My golden( Bailey) is looking as white in the face. I can see perfectly the fun you had with you furry friends and the cranberries. My Bailey would have hugged them in final victory as well.. Doggie ownership amazes me…just like people. Very sweet! You are doing an amazing job Mary Anne!
