I have told this story many times, but when I was pregnant with Annie and Katie was not two yet, I worried. I worried that if I had another girl, she would always compare herself to her older sister. Katie was so beautiful. Everywhere we went, people stopped me to tell me how lovely she was. So, like any mom would do, I prayed. I asked God that if I were having another girl that she would be equally beautiful and yet markedly different. I kept these prayers to myself, not even telling Chris, fearing he would think it was silly. I did not need to worry. God answered my prayers in spades.
Katie has dark, chocolate brown eyes and thick, curly hair. Annie has eyes as blue as the sky, with soft light brown/blonde hair that falls in soft waves. Sometimes people don’t even know they are sisters, but they nearly always compliment their inner and outer beauty. The best part is, they love each other. They have a special friendship and bond that few sisters share. I am so grateful for all of this. God hears a mother’s prayers.
addendum: Because sometimes it’s just too hard to choose…

You are speaking Truth my friend …and you have been richly blessed!
I have noted this special relationship and commented about it to others. They are two very wonderful young ladies that I love very much and am very thankful for the beauty in both.
