Tomorrow we leave for our vacation. I must admit, we need it very much. We have been going our separate ways, as we have milled around in our busy circles. An eight hour car ride should ensure a sense of togetherness, as we journey to Orlando, Florida. It feels bittersweet however, as I am aware Annie will be getting on a plane to Oxford, England a week after we get home. Summer will be officially over. Our five-person family unit will once again be separated. I knew this season was temporary, and I have endeavored to hold on to and enjoy every moment. Still, it goes by quickly. I do believe being grateful in the moments as they come, helps us to hold them and slow time. And so, as we fill suitcases tonight and chat about our plans together, I will let my heart expand and be grateful, breathing in the moments. I will say “thank you” to my Father in Heaven who graciously gives me these gifts, these moments, each a treasure. When I add them up together, I am a very rich woman indeed.
So Chris and I will leave tomorrow to spend a week with our birdies three, counting the gifts one by one. “Thank you, Father”.
James 1:17 ~ ” Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
