I found these sticky notes by my computer, where I sit every night to write this blog. They are written in the sweet handwriting of my Annie Bird, or Sunshine, as I often call her. She knew I was tired, and struggling to persevere in this project. You can only imagine what these words, etched from her heart, mean to me. She is saying all the right things. “I love you. You matter. What you are doing is making a difference. God is with you.” What more do I need? And so, another day in my project is done, and I am able to keep going because of her encouragement.
I am so grateful for all the words of encouragement many of you have sent me over the last seven months. They mean the world to me. Many of you have taken the time to write me and tell me how my photographs or words have blessed you in some way. Even though I still have a long way to go, I just want to take a moment to say thank you for that. All of those sweet notes and the kind things you have spoken to me in person have largely kept me going in this endeavor. So, thank you, to all of you as well. I pray I can continue. This has become a place of community for me. Through this project I have been able to share my musings about life, love and God. This has been a gift in and of itself, but to have people share in that with me has been a true joy.
Thank you.

Mary Anne – I know I’m not alone in saying this but you will never know how much myself and others have looked forward to “what’s she photographed now? what does she have to say?” It is a highlight of my day. You communicate the heart and that is difficult for most. Please believe that you’re not alone in this journey, there are THOUSANDS of us right behind you encouraging you as well and are truly blessed. Its like the drop of water you photographed, the ripples of you are emanating to so many. God works wonders through you! Thank YOU is more appropriate. Love, Amy
Amy,
Thank for taking the time to tell me that. You have been a great source of encouragement to me over the last several months.
Blessings to you:)

Day 210. YOU DID IT!!!!!! Yay!!! 🙂 i’ll bet that Day 211 will come to you on the breeze…at least that’s what i’ll pray for! Proud of you…
Thank you, Julia! I appreciate you.:)
I agree with Amy… I look FORWARD to checking your blog daily to see the world through your eyes. I’m SURE it’s overwhelming some days, but you could photograph a simple spoon and make it look like fine art.
Do you know how many people, many of which are strangers, are inspired by you?!?!?!?!
Thank you, Christy. You are a blessing to me! And, I am not too sure about making a spoon look like fine art, but thanks for your belief in me. 🙂
i don’t even know you and am blessed – I need breaths of fresh air – sights of love and laughter – kindnesses and ponderings – i am a woman that serves the Lord in a dark country – I am thankful for this last few months and the next few months of faithful followers replenishing here in the USA, preparing to go back on the field in February – I am glad I got to see you here – I will continue when I return to Germany — ps. you are invited to come and take pictures there when I return 🙂 Ask Emily… i am not kidding :-)))))))
Thank you, Robyn! I would love to come! And thank you for all of your kind words. Blessings to you!

Yes! Don’t give up! You’ll never know how much you touch each and everyone reading your blog even so far away in Asia. I love your thoughtful words and beautiful hope-giving pictures. You bring sunshine and encouragement on bleak days and thanksgiving and patience in frustration.
I couldn’t thank you more!!
A word of apology if I may, I’ve been sharing your pictures on powerpoint when leading worship during my small fellowship. I hope you don’t mind that I’ve you taken the liberty of using your pictures without your permission. I think that your images give so much more meaning to worship songs. Let me know if you prefer me to not to.
