365 Project Day 2: Lacework at Dusk

Lacework at Dusk

I have long loved the trees at dusk. Their silhouetted forms against the ever deepening blue captivate me. Often, when Chris and I are driving and having conversation, I will stop mid-sentence to gaze at their beauty. It is such a short span of time each day that we are given this gift. In winter, they are even more stunning, with the air so clear and branches having cast away their fall leaves. You can see their truest form. Each one unique. I love them.

As the girls and I pulled into the drive tonight, I saw them. remembering my 365 Project-press, I asked to be dropped off at the end of the driveway, camera in hand. I walked swiftly to the place  I remembered was the best view. I have walked it many times. The sun was retreating quickly and the stars already peeping through. Perfect. I found him, my old man tree. The oak at my neighbors driveway. In minutes I had my image for the day, and my spirit was refreshed. Lacework against the deep blue. Sigh.
