Well, not at all unlike me, I am late. I am starting a 365 photo project a day late for 2011. Well, technically, just an hour late. It is 1:00 am here on the 2nd day of January. I know, it seems everyone is doing a 365 project. I have shunned the idea so far for many reasons. First of all, I don’t like the commitment end of it. Secondly, it scares me to death. What if I can’t come up with a compelling image every day for a whole year? Well, I have decided to hold my own feet to the fire on this one. The truth is, I want my photography to come from within me. I want my images to move me first, and hopefully some others along the way. But first, I want them to come from my heart. And, I want to grow as an artist.
So, here I go. I hope to post an image here every day. A compelling one. The one above caught my eye, because it resonated how I was feeling today. It rained all day, this first day of the New Year. Let’s just say, I was less than inspired, and went looking for places of hope. This candle in the window with the rain streaming down the window and the silhouetted tree, well, it all felt right. So here it is. Day one. I will try my best to only post one image per day, although sometimes I may post a few more. Hey, this is my project. The only rules are: 1) at least one image per day,and 2) it should be emotionally compelling or moving.
Let’s see if I have the guts to do this.

Oh, MaryAnne- I love this!! Thank you for having the courage to do it!

I love when I make a new friend and get to stumble around their old blog posts thinking about what happened at the same time in my own life. My little Evie girl was born 1/1/11 and this picture speaks so much to me! She was our little light in the darkness, but also the rain in the background… Oh such a sign of things to come yet a reminder that God’s light has been and will continue to be shining through this dark dark journey we are on. May I share this image and post on my blog? Love you already and it was so so nice meeting you last night! Thank you for your prayers. I truly believer our Father hears each and every one.
Hi Rachel!
So glad you stopped by, and of course you can use the image. I am so glad I got to meet you. You are a light.
Love,
Mary Anne
I’m late in discovering your blog but I just want you to know how much of a blessing it is, your stream of consciousness writings, your quotes from Scripture, and your stunning photography. They speak to my spirit, and to my sister’s (I share many of your posts with her, and am now a blog subscriber myself.) Thank you for enriching our world!
