365 Day 8: Small Pleasures

Small Pleasures

Canon 5D Mark 2, 24-70 L, 2.8 aperture, 1/60 shutter, 125 ISO, flash shot in manual at 1/16 bounced off ceiling for fill

I have found a new love in beautiful teas, and  the store Teavana is more than happy to help with that. There are so many choices, each unique with an enticing aroma. The teas are all loose, and if you buy their tea maker, you can watch them unfold before your very eyes. There are  flowers and little seeds in abundant colors in many of them, and I am mesmerized watching them steep. Thus, my image for the day. I wanted to portray the feeling you have when you sit down to a cup of beautiful tea. It is these small pleasures that make life so sweet and interesting. After such a heavy week, I enjoyed arranging delicate tea cups full of aromatic tea.  The only thing that could have made it better would have been a good friend to share it with.

Your photographs are absolutely gorgeous. I love them all, but especially this one. The strawberries bring out the red hues in the cup. I also love the way you captured the steam. It’s nice to have someone else’s 365 project to follow while I work on mine! An intimidating task, but exciting too. Best of luck!
