I am so excited about Homespun, a new business by local chef, Jason Jimenez. I was able to attend and photograph the first official Homespun event in Atlanta last week, and wow, I was impressed! Everything, all of it, was carried out with so much detail and excellence. Jamie Wyckoff of Julia’s Poppies assisted in all the lovely invitations and paper goods for the night. She has a wonderful flare that brought beauty to the night. Also in the mix was Juli Vaughn of Juli Vaughn Designs creating magical tables scapes and Mao Thao of Four Inch Fold bringing lovely vintage tables and chairs to the venue. What a crew!
The tables were beautifully decorated and set, and the dinner courses were delectable. After a short time of fellowship and games, we prayed a blessing over the night and began our feast with roasted corn, okra, and picked pepper salad. I felt my tastebuds come to life. Jason is passionate about cooking with local and organic food, and everything tasted so fresh! The main course was barbecue braised pork short ribs that practically fell off the bone. SO good! The table cooed with delight at the ginger-pear scone, roasted plums and buttermilk ice cream that sang sweetly in our palates, thus finishing out a flawless evening. We joyfully clapped a round of grateful applause for the chef.
It was pure delight.
On the Homespun website you can read more about Jason’s vision for this new business, and subscribe to the newsletter about future events. It is a beautiful venture, bringing together the love of people and delicious food.
I highly recommend that you host a Homespun event of your own! It is a special evening from start to finish. Here are some more images of our beautiful night!
