Day 29 Katie’s Calling

Have you ever seen a bird break out of its egg or a caterpillar emerge from the prison of its cocoon? That holy hushed moment where is it hard to remember to breathe?

That’s how I felt watching my Katie step fully into her calling tonight. I watched her own her space on the stage as she was both fully present and in God’s presence at the same time. It was a beautiful, blessed thing. And that man in the background? That’s her daddy blessing her — supporting her. My heart swelled to the brim in this moment.

Katie has been writing songs since she was five years old on the swing set. Creativity is a life force that God put in her. She dances in color and song, brightening every room she sachets into. She is a beautiful flower, my Katie.

Tonight as I watched her worship her King with her whole heart I felt peace wash over me. I knew something that had been in the works for years was reaching its fulfilled time. Katie is stepping into her calling, not based on what others think, but based on the work God is completing in her. No one can take that away from her.

I am so proud of you Katie girl. Sing little songbird. Sing the song he put in you.
