When she was little Chris came home with a new nickname for her. He had heard it at work and knew it was meant for our Annie. He began to call her Lagniappe- which means just a little bit extra. She is the equivalent of the 13th donut in a bakers dozen- the extra bit you didn’t know you were going to get but are delighted you did. She brings that kind of joy and surprise into the lives of those around her.
If you know Annie at all, you will know why. If you ask for 100 percent from her, she will give you 110 percent. She always does, gives, loves and lives just a little bit extra.
I have loved having her here at home while she is preparing to get married in April. Her love language is acts of service and I will often find my laundry clean and folded neatly, or the kitchen counter cleared and organized. I know that is when she is saying ” I love you” with a little extra flair. I will certainly miss her when she is married and settled in her own home, but I will be forever grateful for this transitional season with our Lagniappe.
Love you Annie Bug.
Colossians 3:17 ~”And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
