The house was busy with the sound of moving furniture and taking up carpet today. We are replacing our 17 year old tired carpet upstairs with the same heart pine we have downstairs. ( Can I hear an amen?) I couldn’t be happier. And these two winsome kids? They worked hard all day to help prepare for this blessing. They and their friends moved furniture, took up carpet and loaded the new wood into the guest room.
As I was packing up things and shoving placing them into the storage areas, I could hear their laughter in the hallway. Goodness, it was a balm for my heart. What mother doesn’t want the hallways ringing with the laughter of her children? I traced out the moment in my heart, knowing it would be a sweet memory.
These moments — the ones sandwiched in between the ones we think are important — they turn out to be the ones we treasure.
Thank you Annie and Johnny for coming to my rescue today. You do such great work. Can I hire you out on a regular basis?
xoxo,
Mom
