He’s been working on it the better part of a month. Johnny took the leftover scraps from our new flooring and made a beautiful wooden chest. He says that it is an heirloom chest for one of his sisters — whichever one marries first. There is a wry smile on his face when he says that part. I am convinced there is nothing he cannot accomplish when he puts his mind to it.
I watch him work into the night after long days at school. I can almost see his mind unfurl as he works at his craft. He’s a thinker like his daddy and working with his hands helps him to rest. I understand this too. Creativity has a way of bringing quiet to our souls.
The chest is beautiful. He took all the little pieces we didn’t know what to do with and made something wonderful.
So proud of you Johnny.

I love it! It will be a cherished blessing to whichever sister gets it! 🙂

This made me smile. 🙂 We have two daughters and our son is the youngest. Thomas has the same kind heart as Johnny.
