Another glorious sunset on the farm. One more cheerful cluster of cherry blossoms. One more sweet deep breath into my lungs.
My God is faithful.
His gifts and goodness are overflowing the boundaries of my life. His grace seeps and spills into all of my edges and he alone defines me. He tells me what is truth and love and all that is good. He tells me the great story of his love over and over through all that he has made.
His faithfulness is the backdrop over which I stretch my vulnerabilities and frailties. I know I can because he doesn’t change. I bring all the hurt and all my failing out into his light. He doesn’t flinch. His love is unwavering.
And little by little, I can move and breathe again.
Time stopped for me the day my mom died, but God’s faithfulness continued to dance over my life. The sun rose and the stars shimmered at night. The flowers bloomed and the chickens laid their pastel eggs. The bluebirds came back to their house to build their nest. My husband’s soft “good morning” and my children’s “I love you” over the phone. God has continued his beautiful tapestry of faithfulness over my life. I am held in his love.
Thank you Father for your faithfulness. How I love you.
One more sunset.
Deuteronomy 7:9 ~”Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
Psalm 65:8 ~”The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.”

Beautiful. Every bit of this. Hang onto the bits, Mary Anne. Salvation is built on bits, you know?

Your words are like music floating so effortlessly here. You have a gift, such a beautiful gift. God is so good.
The exhale and rest of your words along with the photograph…stunning.
