Day 47 Night Clouds

Night Clouds

In contrast to yesterday’s grey post, here is an image of the night sky, brilliant with color and movement. The clouds were moving so swiftly that my slow shutter captured them as pure color smeared across the sky. The moon also looks like the sun in these images.

I am quite sure I have never spent so much time photographing the sky at night. The stars have become a symbol of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness to me in this season of grief. Often the days are difficult and when the evening arrives, I welcome the sense of God’s presence under the stars. There are no other expectations there — just the soft night noises of the farm and woods. Sometimes if there is a soft breeze, I can hear the spoon chimes my husband made for me. Tink tink tink. So comforting.

The world God made is a great big “I love you” from his heart to ours. So many gifts. He is extravagant in his love for us. I imagine his joy when we stop to notice his kindness. Gratitude connects our hearts to his. A simple “thank you” is worship. And when we worship? Ah, that is our ticket to more of him. More love, more peace, more joy. When we leave all our “rights” at his altar and worship, we gain all we could never have done for ourselves. We gain everything.

More.

It’s a beautiful snowball really. His goodness, our gratitude,  his goodness, and on it goes.

Tonight I am grateful. And what is better than that? A grateful heart is a happy heart.

Jonah 2:9 ~”But I’m worshiping you, God, calling out in thanksgiving And I’ll do what I promised I’d do! Salvation belongs to God!” ( The Message)

Stunning. Both the photography and the words. I could linger all day. Those photos would be awesome enlarged to cover the ceilings in every conceivable home! What peace and hope for the best that is yet to come! Joy in the morning. Thank YOU for waving your hand to Abba, with the words, “pick me, pick me”! And then to allow Him to give you such shots that you in turn share with all of us!
