This is my boy Johnny. This image of him reminds me so much of what prayer looks like.
Do we know that when we pray we are holding out a light for those who are walking in darkness and despair? The quiet-breathed whispers, the bold proclamations, the steady songs, they are all flickering beacons of hope for those who are struggling to find their way. The Father has agreed to partner with us as we pray. When we intermingle our hearts with his for our brother and sisters, hope is kindled ever so brightly.
We each line the roadways and trails of this broken world with our torches and thus reveal the way home. The Father is waiting.
There have been so many days and nights that I know I would not have survived without the prayers of my friends and family.
Another day is done and there are new mercies tomorrow. God is faithful.
He has left the light on for us.
Revelation 5:8 ~”And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”

I love this image tied to the idea of prayer. You are so good at connecting images to intangible things.
Might need that one in my office.
I like that!! What a marvelous image for prayer!
