365 2014 Day 29 Country Snow

Snow in the Country

Today I just wanted to share some images from our country snow in the south. We rarely get snow and my little heart was filled with the brim from the beauty of it. My horses loved it too. They kept rolling in it. So funny. I wanted to roll in it too, but didn’t want to get my camera wet.

Johnny brought some friends home and we got to keep them an extra day because of the snow. I felt like mama again cooking comforting soups and chocolate chip cookies.  Of course I am always a mom, but I miss the days of hungry children to feed, dirty dishes in the sink and shoes piled up like a mountain in the mudroom. These signs of life that I often wished away are happy memories that I miss now. I often wonder if we should bring more children into this little farmhouse.

But that’s another story and matter of prayer.

Thank you God for the snow, and for my birdies.

I miss those same days and pray over that same question. I love your photos for today – that red swing is amazing – such peace in such a powerful color.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I had my son, Dan, with me for several months and just loved it. I miss him!

Do you live in heaven…because your house/property is what heaven looks like to me.

So beautiful! When the snow began falling Tues, you may be surprised to know one of my first thoughts was excitement over how you might capture the beauty of it! Well-done! And from a momma right in the thick of the piles of shoes, dirty dishes, and hungry children to feed, thank you for the reminder that these times are fleeting. I will remember to cherish them more. 🙂
