Today was a wonderful day. Yesterday’s grief turned to utter joy today. This country mouse decided to visit the city. I am not great at navigating the busy streets of Atlanta, but today I jumped in the fast lane so I could meet a dear friend who happened to be in the city for the night. Sigh. My cup is full from beautiful scenery, sweet conversation and delicious food. Atlanta truly is a beautiful city. With the colorful lights of the ferris wheel and the crisp clip-clopping of the horses pulling their carriages, I felt like a young girl again.
To top a great day off, Annie and I went into a place spontaneously and sang karaoke together. (This was a first for me). She said we were building a memory. And we were. I will never forget it. She is my city mouse, never afraid of anything. Someday I hope to be like her.
So very grateful tonight. God in his kindness has gathered me into laughter again.
Psalm 30:11 ~” You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. I’m about to burst with song; I can’t keep quiet about you. God, my God, I can’t thank you enough.”
