Project 365 Day 54: The Time is Now

This project is teaching me so much, or should I say God is teaching me so much through this project. As Katie and I were walking through the mall today, I spotted a beautiful square of sunshine on a sofa right in the middle of the aisle outside of Nordstrom. Thankfully, I have a willing subject in Katie. The light was beaming down through a window in the ceiling and onto the floor creating both beautiful back lighting and fill lighting for her face and eyes. This was the result. Who would have thought the mall would be a perfect studio setting!

Truthfully, the moments we find ourselves in are the ones we are to savor, to rejoice in. Walking through the mall with Katie, and riding the escalator up and down trying to find the perfect shot, are the moments to be savored. I am so grateful to be learning this now, while I am walking with those I love. Every moment we have, these are the ones we are given, so enjoy them, live in them, soak them up!  It is so simple, and so freeing, really, this idea of living in the present, and being grateful in the now. Right now is all we have.

Now go squeeze someone you love, chase them up an escalator, ride the carousel, stand in the rain, breath in the scent of your little ones, laugh at the goodness of fresh pajamas, the smell of popcorn, the feel of your favorite person’s skin next to yours. You get it. Live, and love it.

I love the first one on the elevator! How did you manage not to get any people in the frame?? I’m amazed to see how much your skills have improved (and who knew you had room to improve?!? You are already so good!) from the very first blog picture. You inspire me to bring my camera around with me everywhere I go. I just don’t know if I want the liability of breaking it or having it stolen. So much money!! But the pictures you have are … PRICELESS!

this makes me want to bring my camera everywhere I go.. so many times I feel almost embarrassed to be taking pictures, but you aren’t. You don’t care. You challenge yourself and do some crazy things to get “the shot” and I admire that, I desire that. it’s awesome.. and the first picture is way beyond beautiful!
