“Is that Brad??” I heard one of the kids exclaim at church tonight. Several of us turned to see a young man with a sweet smile and bright blue Georgia State t-shirt standing in the hallway. It was indeed Brad Chahoy. A sight for sore eyes! Almost everyone I know has been praying for him for several weeks now.
While on a recent trip to Liberia, Brad contracted Malaria, but did not know it until he was on another trip to Guatemala. There, he became so ill he was placed in a hospital in ICU. My kids were deeply concerned about their friend. Holding onto one another’s hands, we prayed for him and his family, who had flown to Guatemala to be with him there. It was a scary situation. He needed God’s help, and we knew it. Days turned into weeks as we endeavored to get updates on his condition. Our hearts were so heavy for him as we lifted him up before the Father. Groups gathered everywhere to pray for his recovery and return home.
Now, he was home and standing in the door frame. It felt like cool water being poured out on the thirsty ground, all those answered prayers. I am so grateful. Everywhere Brad goes now, he carries a message of hope with him. He is a walking reminder that he serves a God who listens and responds to prayer.
Please continue to pray for him as he continues to return to full strength.
Welcome home, Brad. We are very glad to have you home at last.
