After the week we have had with snow, ice and freezing temperatures, I needed the hope of Spring. When we finally were able to get out to the store on Wednesday, Katie and I headed over to the floral department. We must have been thinking on the same wavelength, because neither of us said anything, but we both made a beeline for the beautiful flowers upon walking in the door. I love that about our relationship. Chris was returning a movie, so we lingered there, chatting about which ones we would like to take home to bring some color and life into the kitchen. We both adored the orchids, but agreed they were overpriced. We finally settled on this humble, but deliciously-scented hyacinth. We chose this one for its rich purplish-blue hues and because it was just beginning to bloom.
Once I got it home, I knew we made the right choice. I love it, so cheerful sitting in my window-sill, reminding me that Spring is not so far away. Thought you might need that reminder too.
Soon.
