Project 365 Day 100: First Rose

April 10, 2011

Open and Shining

Canon 5D Mark ll, 100mm 2.8 macro, 7.1 aperture, 1/125 shutter, 100 ISO. Tripod used to keep camera steady during macro shooting.

She is the first of my roses to bloom this Spring. I love the gentle lines she boasts. She is a beauty. I had to show her off today.

Few flowers compare to the classic beauty of the Rose. She closes gently around herself while waiting for her time to shine, her budding form soft to the touch. Then quietly, while we are unaware, she unfolds sweetly, revealing her intoxicating fragrance and beauty. She is both majestic and demure. Inviting and threatening. Complex, as the most exquisite creatures are.  After all, she is the Rose.

This is not the typical site I would go to daily, but your 365 project has captured my attention day by day. Not only are the photos phenomenal, but your writings posted along side them are a treasure as well. Thanks!
