Canon 5D Mark ll, 24-70 2.8L, 4.0 aperture, 1/200 shutter, 200 ISO, gold reflector used to light Johnny and the can of soda.
It has kind of been a running joke between us. I will ask if he has any ideas for my 365, and he will suggest obliterating soda cans with a baseball bat. He has said it at least 20 times. Every time, I have laughed and said ” yeah, right, be serious, Johnny.” I asked him again today, and he just looked at me. “Let me guess…” I said responding to his expression. He offered to go get the soda. Buried in a project at the computer, I agreed readily. When would I have the chance to do this again? He’s my boy.
I knew I was in for some excitement, but not how much. I didn’t envision being sprayed in a sticky orange spray over and over again. He happened to choose the soda with the highest sugar content known to mankind. My gear, my reflector and everything in a 20 foot radius needed a good wipe down. Think there is still some on my elbow…
Best of all, I got to laugh and spend time with my son doing something kind of outrageous. Best way to shake off the gloomies. Just can’t describe the feeling of orange soda spraying me in the face and not really caring about anything else in the moment.
It was an excellent idea, Johnny. Thanks.:)
