With it being Sunday, and a travel day, I am once again giving myself the liberty to post a photo from the day before. ( There should be a 24 hour grace period, I think.)
This photo really speaks to me. This is an image from the conference at YEC this weekend. This little girl is in earnest, asking her God about something that is very important to her. I just love her long eyelashes and her little folded hands. She may look like she is leaning on the edge of the stage, but she is really in the throne room of the Living God.
Matthew 18:10~ “‘See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.'”
Jesus loves the little children.
He really does. There is a story in scripture in which Jesus is ministering to a crowd of people, as He often did. When some parents tried to bring their children to Jesus, this is what happened.
“People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them” Mark 10:13-16.
He reiterates these thoughts in another passage.
“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.'”~ Matthew 18:2-5
May I be more like a child every day. To play, to laugh, to be in my moments, to believe, to love, to trust, to look upward like only a child can, to depend on one stronger than myself, to be so vulnerable I am irresistible, to be soft, to cry, to clap happy at gifts from the Father, to giggle, to delight and be a delight. Yes, more of all of that.
Happy Sunday. Carry it with you all week.
