365 Project Day 34: Concentration

Concentration

Canon 5D Mark ll, 50 1.2L, 1.4 aperture, 1/100 shutter, 200 ISO, natural light

I love the light in this boy’s eyes. My boy. Those big beautiful browns.

He was not posing. I just looked across the table at dinner and saw that light in his eyes and the level of his concentration. I was captured.  He is not your typical “gamer”. He would rather be outside or playing music than almost anything. But at this moment, he looks like his life depends on this particular game on his phone.

It was only an hour before that he was helping Katie ambush Annie’s boyfriend Tyler with silly string. He is my adventure kid. He loves life and I love him. I know these days are short, when I can look across the table and take his picture if I want to. So I do. I want to be in every moment. To breathe in the present and be grateful. I am so very thankful for every seemingly ordinary moment. There is no such thing.  They are all extraordinary when I notice them.

May you see the light in the eyes of someone you love today.

Ecclesiastes 8:15 ~ ” So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.” ( NIV)
