Joy in the Waiting

She smiles, eyes sparkling as she speaks the name she has chosen for the life that is swelling within her. It is her first girl. Her name will mean “beautiful princess”. Of course it will. This princess will have two older brothers to fight with and for her, and a daddy who will swoon as she learns to say “dada” first. Her mother is an elegant and strong woman who has known and overcome adversity.

Grace overshadows her life like a colorful sky.

She will teach her princess to know her God, her Jesus, who has shown her redemption and given her new life. Even now, this mother whispers sweet encouragement to the royalty that is being woven and spun in the secret place. Encouragement to know her Maker as her Savior. She gladly passes on the grace that has been given to her.

Baby princess will inhale her first breaths of this fallen air in less than two months. We will be there to tell her there is a Savior and kiss her regal cheeks.

Roll out the red carpet. Welcome beautiful princess.

I was not disappointed. It was just two days before I was to leave for England and so I am just now able to post a few pictures of that glorious morning. Her name aptly means “beautiful princess”, and that she is. But I knew she would be. I wrote about her a couple months ago when I photographed her mommy Cynthia. […]
