Took this of Johnny at the local playground tonight. I think he could do Parkour if he wanted to. He is pretty amazing, He can flip all 6′.2” of himself in the air almost from a standing position. Love the sun setting against his profile here. This is the essence of my son. Adventurous, spontaneous and fearless.
I don’t know if it has been the dreary weather, or just January itself, but I have felt more and more bogged down and heavy as the days have gone by. Tonight, upon Katie’s suggestion, even in the freezing wind, we went to the park to play. It was so good for all of us, even if just for a little while. You have to be brave to play sometimes, and playing almost always breaks the heaviness.
I think we all need some of this: just running up against our obstacles and breaking free against the colorful sky.
Until tomorrow. Defy some gravity.

What great wisdom, Mary Ann. I agree…I was just thinking of how heavy things have been, starting just before our snow week. For me, I’m sure a lot of it has to do with losing our precious dog, Samson. We only had 2 weeks with him after his diagnosis of spleen cancer (also in his liver). That mixed up with a few other things has been much to bear. I need to be purposeful to “kick” this heaviness off. Thanks for reminding me! You are SO precious!
*Sigh* Love it.
