I am afraid today will have to be another two-posting day…
These are whispers of the tulips that graced Katie’s apron pockets earlier in the week. I couldn’t help but be drawn to them as I saw them falling and scattered in the light on my kitchen table this morning. Any movements I made caused more petals to flutter down from what was once a place strength and glory. Beautiful, really.

There is something so alluring about something or someone giving their everything. Like these flowers, blooming with all their might, leaving nothing undone, and then falling gracefully, spent and satisfied. Sacrifice is so beautiful. I have a friend who was lamenting to me that the one thing she really didn’t like about herself was that she couldn’t do anything halfway. I then spoke up and said it was my favorite thing about her. She shines. She shines and we all feel it.
A.D. Correll, one of the speakers at Katie’s graduation from UGA, said something I won’t forget. He said, ” Live hard, love hard, work hard, and for heaven’s sake, stand for something.” I love that. I want to do that, just like the tulips.
Colossians 2:23 ~ “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men”. (Amplified Bible)

Beauty in death.
So it will be with me.
