Sometimes we just need something beautiful to look at, so smell, to touch. To eat! These cherries just made a day that was difficult seem better. Their glossy red skin, the way they tumble together like happy friends, and their sweet wonderful taste were like a breath of fresh air. Taking joy in the simple things is a veritable life rope to me when things don’t seem to be going well. The simple task of arranging these cherries in a milk glass bowl (still borrowed from my sweet friend, Denise), and placing them on a bright red checkered dishtowel brought me into instant glee. I felt the breath and life coming back into me.
I know my Father God places these things in key places and times for me to enjoy if I will but notice them. Today I did, and I am so grateful. I hope they bring brightness and color into your world today too!
James 1:17 ~ “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
