365 Project Day 125: Tethered

Somedays are just like this. We know we are meant to fly, but we feel tethered to the earth somehow, our colorful strands tangled and strewn out in the open. Part of us trying to break free, and part clinging and clutching to the thorns and thistles that bind us. It seems it is not enough to know the truth about who we are, who we were meant to be. We need help. Someone to loosen the strands and blow fresh belief in our direction. A friend with a kind word. A note in the mail. Prayers from those who love us. A long hug. A new lens to look through. Someone to say “It’s going to be okay.”

It is. We just can’t really see it all from this place.

If  you are having that kind of day, or that kind of season, I want to tell you that you are loved. Deeply loved by a God who sees you. He knows and He has walked this earth that grabs and clutches at our heels. He knows.  He sees. He loves. This is all very temporary.

I pray that you will find what you need to break free today and move upward into the open sky. Blue skies await.
