Settling Her Down

Canon 5D Mark ll, 16-35 2.8L, 9.0 aperture, 1/320 shutter, 50 ISO

(First, a disclaimer: These shots were taken for dramatic effect. Yes, I realize my son is not wearing a helmet or proper shoes. We are on a private road in front of our house. This is not a street bike. Yes we own a helmet and we use it. Thank you.)

This shoot was originally on panning. Panning is photographing an object that is moving with a slow shutter so the background blurs but the subject stays in focus. I will post some of those below. ( I will also post the specs on one of them as to how we captured them.)

However, I know epic when I see it, and well, this one made the shot of the day for that reason. I am so fortunate to have a son who will go out with his mom and do shoots like this. He adds so much joy and color to my life. I love to see him free and happy on his bike. He has grown up here on this land we are so blessed to own. He has grown strong in the fresh air and under the open sky, roaming the woods for sanctuary and adventure. His friends call this place “Neverland”. I always smile a little when I hear it. I think he is a bit like Peter Pan. There is a part of him that will always cling to adventure and childhood. I hope he never really grows up in those places of his life.  I am so grateful he has those opportunities on this farm. I am grateful for him. And now, to some more epic shots!

Keeping Her Steady

Canon 5D Mark ll, 70-200 2.8L, 7.1 aperture, 1/40 shutter 50 ISO. Had camera on tripod and followed Johnny as he drove by. He is not going as fast as it looks, thanks to dragging the shutter.:)

I LOVE these shots. They are just so-o Johnny. The pictures are magazine quality as are so many of your pictures.
