Janey and Coby’s 2014 Litter

So Janey finally had her pups.

She was a few days early so I was a bit unprepared. I still had things to get from the store. Thankfully, Katie came home and brought me things I needed. She cooked an amazing meal for us too. My friend Kelly who is a vet came for a while, as well my friends Amy and Lindsay. It was so wonderful to have people around who knew what to do. According to the x-ray we were only supposed to have 5, and 5 boys were born first. I was disappointed not to have a girl, and then 13 minutes later she delivered surprise puppy number 6, then 7, then 8! The last three were girls and I was so happy.

Janey and I are completely exhausted. I am so proud of her though. She knew exactly what to do. Last night I slept in the basement with her, making sure she was staying hydrated and taking her out when she needed it. She doesn’t want to be left alone at all right now so I guess my hangout will be the basement until she finds her feet.
